Sara Sakanaka is an independent designer and consultant whose work ranges from fashion, product and textile development, specializing in creative direction and womenswear within the luxury market.  With her diverse skills—which includes creative direction, strategy, product development, and brand identity—Sara has brought exceptional and visionary relevance to new and existing brands.

Sara has successfully launched new fashion and lifestyle brands in multiple capacities, including ready-to-wear, couture, bridal, and outerwear.  She has consulted and worked for luxury houses including, Adeam International Foxey Division, Monica Byrne Maison, Carolina Herrera, Norisol Ferrari, HONOR, and Ports 1961.  

In 2020, she founded, Considered Objects, a research clothing project.  She is the co-founder of entreaide collective, a design collective rooted in collaboration.  Currently living and working in New York.
